 Dehesa Valley, El Cajon, Calif. - Myrtle A. Gist, 90, a long-time resident of Dehesa Valley, El Cajon, Calif., died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. No formal services are planned. Burial arrangements will be made through Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Myrtle was born in Thief River Falls and bravely relocated to California at the tender age of 19. She worked for Teledyne Ryan for 35 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene. Myrt is survived by her sister Laura LaPointe of Rochester; her brother, Donald Jorde of Thief River Falls; her twenty-two nieces, nephews and their families scattered throughout the United States.
