Louis Maynard Krueger was born on Aug. 28, 1922 in Kerkhoven, to Edward Frank Henry and Anna Elizabeth (Volentine) Krueger. The family were farmers and they moved to Roseau when Louis was a young boy at the age of 12.  He attended country school at the School District 27E through the eighth grade.
At the age of 17, he bought his first piece of land in Falun Township, Roseau County.  That is where he started his love of the land and farming.  He married Helen Przekwas in 1944 in Hallock and to this union, three children were born:  MaryAnn, Louie Maynard II, and JoAnn. He expanded the farm over the years but in 1958 he went to work in the paper mills in International Falls.  He worked there for over 29 years, retiring in 1987 from Boise Cascade. During those years, he also helped with the farming on days off.  After retiring, he moved to Thief River Falls and has lived there ever since.
He married Sally V. Durohom in August 2006.  They continued to make their home in rural Thief River Falls. Louis loved the land and enjoyed watching from the time the crops were planted until their final harvest. He also enjoyed all types of hunting. He kept his yard up and always planted a large garden. He and his wife, Sally, spent many hours together tending the gardens. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of the Thief River Falls Eagles Aerie. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
