Forest Lake - Inez B. Halvorson, 91, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 in Forest Lake at the age of 91 years.
A celebration of Inez’s life will be held on her 92nd birthday, Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11a.m. at the Coon Lake Beach Clubhouse, 182 Forest Road, Wyoming, MN 55092. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. Inez will be interred in Victor Hill Cemetery.
Inez Beatrice (Olson) Halvorson was born September 8, 1920 in Star Township, near Goodridge. She was married to Alvin H. Halvorson and became the mother of five children. When her children were in school, she would go to East Grand Forks and pick potatoes from the fields to pay for their school clothes. She also worked as a waitress in a café as well as maintained the family home.
Inez is deeply missed by her sons, Ronald (Kathleen) Halvorson and Wayne (Barbara) Halvorson; daughters, Sandra Brown, Marlys Oliverius, and Bonnie (Ronald) LaVone; nine grandchildren, Brenda (Paul) Burns, Stacy (Randy) Feiertag, Tina (Todd) Hammer, Wade Halvorson, Trevor Brown, Jarrod Brown, Kari Holland, Tara (Doug) Nelson, and Derek LaVone; caregivers who became her family, Donna and Tati; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1981; sons-in-law, Eugene Brown and James Oliverius; grandson, Scott Halvorson; brothers, Orvis Olson, Andy Olson, and Leonard Olson; sister, Lorraine McGinty; and the rest of the Golden Girls. A00003B2012AG29
