    Thief River Falls - Helen M. Skibicki, 84, of Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at the Thief River Care Center.  
    Memorial services for Helen and Clarence Skibicki will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Bob Dahlen officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.  
    Helen Marie Battleson was the daughter of Richard and Mary (Willis) Battleson. She grew up in Thief River Falls and married Clarence (Arnie) Skibicki on Oct. 12, 1947.  Together, they raised three daughters and Helen worked selling Avon, at the Bakery and the Dynamite Café. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and spending time with her family.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnie, sister, Luella (Dolly) Meyers, brothers Richard (Dick), George (Bus), Duane and Milton Battleson.
    Helen is survived by three daughters, Linda (Harry) Larson of St. Cloud, Barbara (Nick) Koester of Golden Valley, and Tammy (Brad) Kosel of Thief River Falls; six grandchildren: Robin (Greg) Wood of Stacy, Jenny (Brandon) Brost of Chandler, Ariz., Amy DeSantis of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Katie Larson of Bloomington, Ind., Philip Kosel of Bemidji, and Brett Kosel of Thief River Falls; four great-grandchildren, Madeline and Hayden Wood, Angelo DeSantis and Kiernan Brost, and Helen’s two brothers Donald Battleson of Osburn, Idaho, and James Battleson of Anoka.
