, of Grygla, died on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, N.D., with her loving family at her side.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 3, at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Casket bearers included Scott Kujanson, Jason Kujanson, Trent Kujanson, Bob Footitt Jr., Bill Footitt, Wayne Paulson, David Paulson and Lyle Paulson. Honorary casket bearers included all of Ida’s relatives and friends. Interment was held at Valle Cemetery, Grygla.
Ida Sophia Nygaard was born Nov. 19, 1919 in Benville Township, Beltrami County, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Severinson) Nygaard. She was baptized when she was 15 years old and confirmed as an adult at Grace Lutheran Church. She attended school in Benville Township. Ida lived at home and worked as a housekeeper in the area.
On Oct. 11, 1939, Ida was united in marriage to Roy Paulson at the Mavie, parsonage, by Reverend E. O. Sabo. The couple lived on a farm in Benville Township until 1972, when they moved into Grygla. Following Roy’s death on Nov. 8, 1994, Ida moved to Fargo, ND to be close to her family.
Ida was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla. While living in Fargo, Ida enjoyed her connection with Hope Lutheran Church and she also enjoyed attending church services at Elim Care Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne (Bob) Footitt, Fargo, N.D.; grandsons, Scott (Jennifer) Kujanson of West Fargo, N.D., Jason Kujanson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Trent (Hillary) Kujanson of Halstad, Bob (Tiffany) Footitt, Jr. of Moorhead, and Bill (Tonya) Footitt of West Fargo, N.D.; six great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Paige Kujanson, Hailey Kujanson, Kayden and Kelby Kujanson and Jailyn Footitt.
Ida was preceded in death by husband, Roy; parents; sisters, Hilma Larson, Helen Halvorson, Esther Sabo and Edna Paulson; five brothers, Irvin, Sigfred, Victor, Henry Jr., and Roy Nygaard.
