Thornton, Colo. - Roger Duane Dyrdal went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 18, 2012.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 22 at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton, Colo. Roger was buried at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 25,1943 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to parents Nels and Helen (Stigen) Dyrdal.
In his younger years, Roger spent many of his days biking out to Norden Township so he could be on the farm with his cousins LouAnn and Daryl Lewis. This is where he learned his love for mechanic's taking something broken and fixing it. This is where he learned the diesel mechanic trade as well which led to a career of over 40 years in the trade.
Roger served in the Army National Guard Reserves from 1963 to 1968. During this time, he served in North Dakota during a flood and many other disasters in the Minnesota and North Dakota areas.
Roger married Linda Scholin on June 26, 1965. They had five beautiful children, Lynn Smith, Roger Jr., Jeri (Dennis) Thomas, Bryce, and April (David) Cole.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his children, eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; several aunts and uncles; four brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-law; three brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; a son-in-law; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
