Pearl Eunice Klaven was born on March 27, 1927 on the family farm near Gatzke, the daughter Olaf and Alma (Johnson) Klaven. She attended school in Grygla and Goodridge.
Pearl went to work as a nurse’s aide in Faribault, for a couple of years; then she moved to Pelican Rapids where she worked with handicapped children; and eventually returned to work at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
In her younger years, Pearl was active with her church.
Pearl enjoyed shopping, crocheting, traveling to the Twin Cities, (where she had a habit of getting lost), having coffee, going out for breakfast and hanging out with her friends; spending time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She will be remembered for her big heart and her crazy driving. Pearl was a very patient person.
Pearl lived at Valley Home for a short time and has resided at Oakland Park Communities since 2005. She was a very social person and made friends easily.
Survivors include her brother, Gilmore (Lorraine) Klaven of East Grand Forks; sisters, Audrey (Wendell) Teigland of Thief River Falls and Marie Bimler of Grand Forks, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clayton (Carol) Klaven and Bennie Klaven; and special aunt, Petra Nelson.
