    Oklee - Juell Glendon Chervestad, 90, died on May 18, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls.
    Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Oak Park Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, with Reverend Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Casket bearers include Brandon Mathson, Braque Mathson, Tanir Mathson, Dustin Neuschwander, Heath Neuschwander, Brett Chervestad, Todd Chervestad, Tylor Chervestad, Shane Neuschwander, David Sparby, Briley Sparby and Levi Sparby. Honorary casket bearers include all of Juell’s granddaughters. Interment will be held at Oak Park Cemetery, rural Oklee.
    Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
    Juell Glendon Chervestad was born on May 15, 1922 in Thompson, N.D., the son of Charles and Sena (Gunderson) Chervestad.  He attended school in Deer Park Township, District 52.
    Juell was united in marriage to Annabelle Tasa on August 14, 1943 at the Tasa Farm in Hickory Township. The couple lived on a farm in Deer Park Township.  Juell was a lifelong farmer, with a special love for driving 18 wheelers.  He also spent time working on the Missile Base in North Dakota. Juell enjoyed reading, skiing and snowmobiling.
    He was an active member of Oak Park Lutheran Church, member of NFO and Farmers Union. He was  Clerk of Deer Park Township for 36 years.
    Juell is survived by his wife, Annabelle Chervestad of Oklee; six children, Karen (Richard) Mathson of Panama City Beach, Fla., Ramona Bush of Blaine, Joy (James) Johnson of Fairmont, Kim (Barb) Cher­vestad of Oklee, Dawn (Elden) Neuschwander of Grygla, and Tami (James) Sparby of Grygla; grandchildren: Brandon Math­son, Braque (Laurin) Mathson, Tian (Andrew) Kuehl, Tanir (Holly) Mathson, Keisha (Kevin) Putney, Kalane (Chris) Jones, Jenell (Mike) Xenos, Jodi (Ryan) Carreon, Jenna John­son, Jessica (Brett)  Knudsen, Larissa (Alex) Bloedel, Brett Chervestad, Todd Chervestad, Tylor Chervestad, Dustin Neuschwander, Courtney (Travis) Tennancour, Heath Neuschwander, Jordan Neusch­wander, Brooke Neuschwander, Shane Neuschwander, Whitney Neushwander, Kallie (Travis) Dougherty, David Sparby, Briley Sparby, Levi Sparby; great grandchildren, Emma, Bryson, Kaylee, Brianna, Tristn, Wyatt, Kaed, Kielan, Kinsley, Stran, Noah, Christo­pher, Kaitlyn, McKenzie, Payton and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sena Chervestad; sister, Lillian Tasa; brother, Orlando Chervested; brother-in-law, Glenn Tasa; sisters-in-law, Helen Chervestad, Helen Waldvogel, Irene Molde, infant daughter, Jean; and four grandsons, Matthew, Mark, Josh and Riley.
