Coon Rapids - Donald R. Myhrer, 76, of Coon Rapids, formerly of Thief River Falls passed away May 10, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. May his memory be blessed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday May 15 at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids.
Donald was a supervisor of Gould/GNB batteries on Lexington Ave in St. Paul for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, "uncle Don" and friend; he was always willing to tell a story and lend a hand. May the fish that got away be thankful, and the jokes told always be remembered.
He was very useful to finding out how to fix things and always encouraged everyone to keep on trying and to be thankful for what you have. Over the past couple years you could never leave without taking one of his many paintings or drawings. As a teenager, Don accepted Jesus as his savior.
Donald is survived by wife, Phyllis; daughters, Sheryll (John) Kjos, Jody Kaczor, and Karen (Jim) Costello; Sons, Steve (Becky) Myhrer, Kevin Myhrer, James (Tracie) Myhrer; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister Marlene Owens; brothers Robert (Ivy) Myhrer, Lester (Norma) Myhrer, Larry (Linda) Myhrer; many other relatives as well as friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Olga and Thorvald Myhrer.
Sympathy cards may be sent to Phyllis Myhrer, 5324 152nd Lane NW, Anoka, MN 55303.
