    Karlstad - Wayne F. Voth, 58, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
    Funeral services were held Thursday, May 17 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Karlstad, with Rev. Mitch Tolpingrud officiating. Casket bearers included Rob Klevin Jr., Jim Sollund, Clyde Nelson, Richard Levenhagen, Shawn Collins and Paul Drown. Interment will be held at Karlstad Cemetery, Karlstad. Military honors will be accorded by the Karlstad American Legion Post 445.
    Wayne Frederick Voth, the son of Margaret (Beyer) and the late Frederick Voth, was born on Sept. 25, 1953, at Thief River Falls. He attended school and grew to manhood in the Holt community, graduating from Newfolden High School in 1972.  He was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt.
    Wayne served with the Minnesota National Guard from 1977 through 1978, then served active duty from 1979 until 1983. Another year was then spent with the National Guard.  On May 19, 1978, Wayne was united in marriage to Ann Golby at Bethel Lutheran Church in Karlstad.  The couple resided at Thief River Falls for two years then went to Germany for two years with the National Guard.  
   The couple resided at Clarksville, Tenn., for a year, Finley, N.D. for several months before moving to Newfolden, where they made their home until 1990, where Wayne was an active member of the Newfolden Volunteer Fire Dept.  In 1990, they moved to their present home in Deerwood Twp. of Kittson Co., north of Karlstad, where Wayne enjoyed woodworking, was a Master Gardener and was a weather reporter for the State of Minnesota. He was active in his Bethel Lutheran Church of Karlstad and was presently taking lay ministry classes.
    Wayne worked at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for 27 years.  He always enjoyed all the wildlife around his home.
    He is survived by his wife, Ann; three sons: Daniel (Melissa), of Great Falls, MT;  Wayne, Jr. (Stacie), of Grand Forks, N.D.; and Aaron Olsen, of Alvarado; grandson: Nathaniel Voth, of Grand Forks;  his mother: Margaret (Eldon) Thompson, of Holt;  one sister Debra (Tom) Filer, of St. Paul, one brother: Ron Voth, of Long View, Wash..; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Susan, in infancy.
