Thief River Falls - Dudley Lee Johnson, 73, died Friday May 11, 2012 at his home is Thief River Falls.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 18 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Kevin Brown officiating.
Dudley Lee Johnson was born on Oct. 19, 1938 to Andrew Severin and Lucille Katherine (Hagness) Johnson in Thief River Falls. Dudley lost his arm as a young man and that didn’t slow him down. He grew up in Thief River Falls and attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958.
Following graduation, he lived in Washington and attended school for accounting. He returned to Thief River Falls and began working at Forsberg’s Fabrication. He worked there for over 30 years, where he was in the accounting department, worked as vice president of finance, and office manager.
He was married to LaVonne Thompson in 1963 and they were married for about 12 years. He was then united in marriage to Judy Fore in 1976.
Dudley enjoyed playing cards at the VFW. He enjoyed his movie equipment where he could work and edit movies. He was often found working in his yard and liked to keep it immaculate. Dudley also liked candle making and selling his wares at craft shows.
He is survived by one son Brian Johnson, Strandquist, one daughter Debbie Evans, Lino Lakes; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Sherman (Mona) Johnson, Thief River Falls; two sister-in-laws: Esther Johnson, Thief River Falls, Shelva Johnson, Thief River Falls; two ex-wives, LaVonne and Judy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Connie Resech; three brothers: Richard Johnson, Gary Johnson, Glenn Johnson; one sister, Linda Brown; brother-in-law, Duane Brown; and sister-in-law Betty Johnson.
